Patch Testing Guide
Why do we perform patch testing?
Sometimes, using a new product or a new mix of products can cause skin to have a negative reaction, even if the products are well formulated. Your skin could react due to an allergy to one or a combination of ingredients, using the wrong product for your skin type, too many potent ingredients in a single regimen, abrasive scrubs, or simply a reactive /sensitive skin.
How does a skin reaction look like?
When your skin will look and feel different from what it usually is. Look for:
- Redness on lighter skin tone.
- Purple, Gray and Darkened spots on deeper skin tones.
- Bumps.
- Burning.
- Itching.
- Stinging.
- Dryness and flaking.
How to perform a Patch Test?
It is recommended to perform a patch test before incorporating a new product into your routine. We have outlined a general method for conducting your own patch test based on the type of product.
- Glaura Hair Elixir:
- As directed on the bottle, apply a small amount of the product onto a clean area of skin on the upper forearm.
- Keep it dry for 24 hours, then rinse it off.
- If any redness, burning, itching, blistering or irritation is observed within 24 hours of the patch test, do not use the product.
- Glaura Shampoo Bar:
- As directed on the bottle, apply the product to a small clean area and
- Keep it dry for 24 hours, then rinse it off.
- If any redness, burning, itching, blistering or irritation is observed at any time throughout the test, do not use the product.
- Glaura Conditioner Bar:
- As directed on the bottle, apply the product to a small clean area and leave it on as directed on it, then rinse off.
- Apply it once a day for three days to test if you are sensitive to this product.
- If you develop severe irritation, hives, swelling of eyes and mouth, blistering, or difficulty breathing, rinse off, cease use and consult a physician right away.
Patch tests detect initial irritation reactions to products; results may vary on different body parts or with prolonged use. They do not diagnose underlying conditions, hypersensitivity, or allergic dermatitis. Consulting a dermatologist is recommended before using new products.
Glaura Products
What is the shelf life of your products?
Most of our products have a shelf life of two years (one year after opening). If you turn your Glaura Packaging to the side, you will see a little open can with a number inside. This refers to the number of months in which we recommend using the product.
Is Glaura packaging recyclable?
We pride ourselves in using minimal packaging, barriers made of vegetable sources and biodegradable. Our bottles and jars are recyclable, except for the BoPP labels.
Do you test your products on animals?
No, we do not and we will never test our products on animals.
Are Glaura products all natural?
While Glaura aims for its products to be as natural as possible, it is far more important that the ingredients in them be effective and safe for your body and skin. Natural ingredients can be irritating, so we consistently formulate our products with soothing, low-hazard ingredients regardless of their natural or synthetic status.
Are Glaura products Vegan?
We want all our products to be Vegan and Cruelty free and they are. In the event where we find the need of using an ingredient that is animal derived for efficiency purposes, we will be transparent about it and remove the Vegan icon on that particular product.
Are Glaura products all natural and organic?
We aim for our products to be as natural as possible while maintaining high-performance and safety for your body and skin. We use skin friendly, low hazard and soothing ingredients, mostly natural or from natural resources. All our organic ingredients are marked with* in the Ingredients list.
Does Glaura use Parabens?
No, we do not use Parabens.
Does Glaura use Phthalates?
No, we do not use Phthalates.
Does Glaura use Sulfates?
No, we do not use Sulfates.
Does Glaura use Chemical Fragrances?
No, we do not use Silicons or Chemical Fragrances. We use natural Essential Oils within the recommended percentage.
Is it safe to use Glaura products if I am pregnant or nursing?
Our products are safe. However, always check with your doctor before using any new products while pregnant or nursing.
Who is the Glaura Hair Care line for?
Glaura Hair Care line is for young adults, adults and seniors with tired, thinning and damaged hair that are looking for a hair routine that nourishes, revives, improves hair quality and defends it against aggressors like pollution. Glaura Shampoo bar can be used by everyone. As a general rule "Discontinue use immediately if irritation occurs and consult a physician/dermatologist".

The product i want is out of stock, what do i do?
We recommend subscribing to our emails to receive priority access to restocks, new products, and promotions. To ensure you're among the first to know when an item is back in stock, click the “Email me when back in stock” button on each product page. Please note that limited-edition products and sets are usually not restocked. Once these items are out of stock, they are typically gone for good.

Currently, we sell directly to customers on our website. We provide a manufacturer’s warranty only for products purchased directly from our website.

We happily ship everywhere in Canada at the moment.
What shipping options do you offer?
We offer two shipping options: Standard and Expedited. Cost & time will be calculated at checkout. Shipping fees and thresholds may change periodically without prior notice. Additionally, shipping fees are non-refundable once order are dispatched.
What is the estimate for delivery?
We use multiple couriers based on the destination, which means shipping times can vary. We offer Standard Shipping ( 3-10 business days ) and Express Shipping ( 2-3 business days ). Once your order ships, you will receive an email from Glaura containing your tracking number(s) and tracking link(s) for each order. The shipping timelines provided are estimates and are not guaranteed. While we strive to meet these estimates, occasional delays may occur due to factors such as postal or carrier delays, logistical challenges, inclement weather, or circumstances beyond our control. What method of payments do you currently accept?
We welcome payments via all major credit cards, debit cards and Glaura Gift Cards. For credit card transactions, it's important that your name and billing address match the information registered with the card issuer. Please note that we do not accept online payments from digital banking applications such as Revolut, Monzo, and similar services.

What if the product I received is defective?
For assistance with damaged items, please email details and pictures to info@glaura.ca. Please retain your item as we may request its return for quality assurance purposes.
What if my package is damaged?
If your package or product was damaged during transit, please save both the box and the merchandise. Notify us immediately at info@glaura.ca. It's important not to discard the product or packaging, as these may be necessary for processing your claim.
What is your return policy?
We understand that sometimes things don't quite meet your expectations. Should you find yourself unsatisfied with your purchase from Glaura's website, we're pleased to inform you of our return policy: You may return any unwanted products that are at least 50% full within 30 days from the date of purchase as indicated on your invoice/receipt.Please note that items purchased as part of a set or bundle (e.g., Glaura Hair Care) must be returned in their entirety to qualify for a refund. We do not offer partial refunds in such cases. Additionally, gift cards cannot be refunded or exchanged for cash unless required by applicable law.Kindly be aware that shipping fees and products marked as Final Sale are non-refundable.
How do I return your product?
Online orders can be returned by mail. Please ensure the original or a copy of your invoice is included in your shipment. Confirm the order number, list the returned products, and include return tracking details if applicable. These can be submitted to our Customer Happiness team via our email info@glaura.ca. Please note, Glaura does not provide or cover the cost of return labels.Until received by Glaura, returned products remain your responsibility. While optional, we recommend using tracking services for added security and retaining proof of postage. Only products received at our warehouse can be credited. If your order number cannot be located, we regret being unable to process a refund. Please exercise care when sending items, as incorrectly returned products cannot be credited or returned. Glaura does not assume responsibility for return tracking costs or postage fees.
